Brain Injury Association Announces new Interim Executive Director

WINDSOR, ON: Brain Injury Association of Windsor & Essex County is expanding the role of Executive Director to a full-time position to focus more on community programming, serving those with acquired brain injuries. The search for the new leader will begin in August while longtime board member, Jeannette Ware-Mikhael acts as Interim Executive Director.

BIAWE is committed to enhancing the lives of residents of Windsor & Essex County affected by acquired brain injury through education, awareness, and support. Our members are individuals with a brain injury, their caregivers, healthcare professionals, educators, and the interested public.

Jeannette Ware-Mikhael has been involved with the Brain Injury Association of Windsor & Essex since January 2013, sitting on the Board of Directors as active Secretary and active with the Social Events Committee. Taking a leave from the Board, Jeannette is excited to be involved in this transitional phase; “I look forward to the next chapter for BIAWE.”

The Hiring Committee will be searching for the new Executive Director starting in August. Interested parties can find out more on BIAWE’s website (www.BIAWE.com), posting on www.indeed.ca or email resume and cover letter to KViglasky@biawe.com. The organization would like to thank Kim Fralick for her role of Executive Director for past five months and wish her well in her new role at Care Institute.
