Every year in Canada, Over 60 children will die in a bicycle accidents, most brain injuries; over 5,000 will be seriously injured.
Every year 50,000 Canadians sustain brain injuries.
Families provide the majority of care for people with brain injuries.

Emotional
An injury to the brain may cause an individual to be sensitive towards stress. As a result, they may exhibit mood swings, anger, outbursts, lack of ambition and a change in personality.
Cognitive
Victims of brain injuries will often become disoriented. Distractions and continuous memory loss may inhibit their abilities to learn. Concentration will be an effort and the individual can have difficulty with coping stratagies.
Physical
People with brain injuries may be diagnosed with muscle weakness, paralysis, and seizures. The damage to the brain may cause deficiencies in hearing, smelling, tasting, and sleep. Fatigue plagues most victims, as does sensitivyto alcohol and drugs.
