Support Group Meetings

BIAWE support group meetings set to resume this fall. Meetings will continue to be held monthly on the second Tuesday of the month.

Survivor and caregiver support groups meet the second Tuesday of the month. We welcome survivors of brain injury, their caregivers, family members and friends. No referral is necessary and there is no cost for attending. Meetings are from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served!

Each month will start with an organized topic and will be followed by a round table open discussion. Light refreshments will be served!

Inspiring Hope: Enhancing Lives after Brain Injury

The Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) in collaboration with the participating Community Associations is pleased to announce the 2013 Provincial Acquired Brain Injury Conference will be held on November 13th, 14th and 15th, 2013 in Niagara Falls. Hope turns your face to the sun when depression has you in darkness. It changes you biochemically triggering the chemicals and hormones that make you happier, calmer, and physically stronger. Your emotional state improves, your thoughts are clearer, and your immune system begins to support optimal wellness.

The Conference theme this year is: Inspiring Hope: Enhancing Lives after Brain Injury The Provincial Conference Committee is currently seeking presentations from professionals, survivors and caregivers that will reflect this theme. Topic examples could include, but are not limited to: Community, Relationships, Sexuality, Return to Work and Play, Redeveloping Personal Identity, Ethnicity/Multiculturalism/Diversity, Financial Planning and Humour in Recovery.
